Moby’s iconic ‘Natural Blues’ gets a soulful new chapter, inspired by a viral Coachella performance that fans couldn’t stop talking about.

Some songs simply refuse to disappear. Moby’s iconic ‘Natural Blues’ is one of them—and now, the timeless track is getting another life as Moby teams up with BLOND:ISH, Kiko Franco and acclaimed vocalist Jacob Lusk for a brand-new version.

The new release, ‘Natural Blues (TECIE)’, arrives on Defected Records following the huge response to Moby and Jacob Lusk’s live performance at Coachella in 2026. What began as a standout festival moment quickly became a viral talking point, with fans calling for the emotional performance to receive an official release.

And now, they’ve got it.

The track follows the 2025 reimagining of ‘Natural Blues’, which brought Moby’s seminal original into the modern club space. That version topped Beatport’s House chart and went on to surpass 10 million streams across DSPs, while also landing on major editorial playlists and radio stations around the world.

This time, Jacob Lusk takes centre stage with a powerful vocal performance that gives the track an even deeper emotional pull. Known for his commanding and soulful voice, Lusk transforms the familiar classic into something that feels both nostalgic and completely fresh.

“Who knew that 10 minutes on stage with him at Coachella would completely change my life?” Lusk says, describing the experience as a reminder that “we are not alone.”

That message sits at the heart of the new version. While the production still carries the spirit of Moby’s original, BLOND:ISH brings uplifting piano elements and glowing synths, while Kiko Franco adds melodic, Afro house-inspired arrangements that push the track towards the dancefloor.

Franco describes working on the track as “truly mind-blowing,” highlighting the lasting quality of ‘Natural Blues’ and the opportunity to introduce Jacob Lusk into its next chapter.

The result sits somewhere between festival anthem, emotional house record and timeless songwriting—a combination that has helped ‘Natural Blues’ remain relevant across generations and musical scenes.

There’s also more to the story. The ‘TECIE’ title connects the release to an upcoming original film of the same name, centred around a Gen-Z romance set within Los Angeles’ animal rights and activism scene. The meaning behind the acronym is expected to be revealed in November.

From a legendary original to a 2025 club rework and now a viral-inspired 2026 revival, ‘Natural Blues’ continues to prove that some tracks don’t simply age—they evolve.
